The Big Crossover

Our latest Webelos earned their Arrow of Light and crossed over to the Scouts BSA program, including our first two girls. We look forward to watching them grow as they transition from child to young adult in Troop 612 which meets in the same location as our Cub Scouts.

The Arrow of Light award goes to Cub Scouts who have completed the Webelos rank and prepares them to join Scouts BSA. In fact, Arrow of Light is its own rank, marking a milestone in a Cub Scout’s growth. Check out this post on the order of Cub Scout ranks to learn more about how Cub Scouts advance in the program.

The award is significant in the Scouting experience – so significant it is one of the only Cub Scout badges that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. There are Eagle Scouts out there still representing the Arrow of Light award alongside their Eagle Scout medals.

Blue and Gold and Crossover 2018

This is the time of year where we celebrate Scouting with a Blue and Gold Banquet as well as watch or Webelos II cross over to Boy Scouts.

We typically raffle off several home made cakes to raise funds for Friends of Scouting during our Blue and Gold and this years entries were amazing.

We’re also very proud of our scouts who are transitioning to Boy Scouts and look forward to watching them grow in new ways. We are truly blessed to share the same charter organization and schedule which makes life easier on families and keeps us connected.

Blue and Gold 2015

Tonight was the Scout’s 2015 Blue and Gold celebration which included seven WEBELOS passing onto the Boy Scouts and a fundraiser cake auction. We ended up winning our own cake back, which makes the boys very happy.
